A mobile cervical screening unit is coming to Kirklees.
To help make cervical screening a bit easier to access, the unit will be visiting community locations across Kirklees over the coming weeks.
If you’re 25 – 64 and have a cervix, you’re welcome to pop along if you’ve had an invitation for screening, missed a previous appointment, or think you might be overdue.
No appointment needed – just drop in
The test itself is very quick (usually under 5 minutes) and the whole visit takes around 10 minutes. The mobile unit is a safe, private and comfortable space, and you’re very welcome to bring a friend, family member or chaperone if that helps you feel more at ease.
Cervical screening helps prevent cervical cancer by spotting early changes before they become a problem.
Visit the NHS website for more information on cervical screening.
Screening will be carried out by Dr Nabanita Ghosh, Community Gynaecologist and Women’s Health Specialist, who can support people in English, Urdu, Hindi and Bengali. If you’re feeling unsure or have questions, please feel free to come along for a friendly chat as well.
